Crispy and flavourful homemade Chivda recipe made with poha, peanuts, dry fruits, curry leaves and light spices – a perfect Indian tea-time snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups 200g Thin Poha (flattened rice)
  • 1/2 cup 70g Peanuts (moongfali)
  • 2 tbsp Roasted Chana Dal daliya dal
  • 2 tbsp Cashews kaju
  • 2 tbsp Almonds badam
  • 10 –12 Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chilies slit
  • 1 tbsp Raisins kishmish
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder haldi
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • Salt – as per taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil peanut oil preferred

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast poha in a pan on low flame for 3–4 minutes until crisp.
  • In the same pan, heat oil and fry peanuts until golden brown. Then fry cashews, almonds, and roasted chana dal.
  • Fry curry leaves and green chilies until crisp.
  • Add turmeric and red chili powder in the oil, then add roasted poha and mix gently.
  • Add salt and sugar, toss well, and cool before storing in an airtight container.
